Secrets to Surrender: Living Wholeheartedly
As a follower of Christ, do you truly embrace the idea of letting go completely to surrender wholeheartedly? Can you serve Him with joy, even when it feels like serving is a sacrifice?
Secrets to Surrender reveals the hidden mysteries to wholeheartedly following Christ. Struck by the phrase in the Book of Numbers, “But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly,” author and national WMU president emerita Debby Akerman began a personal word study as she sought to answer: Do I have a different spirit? and Do I follow Jesus wholeheartedly? She discovered three areas essential in a believer’s life to living wholeheartedly for Christ: surrender, sacrifice, and service. As believers, we know about serving and seek to serve well, but what we don't understand is the surrender and the sacrifice. In a gentle, nurturing tone, readers will enjoy stories of biblical, historical, and current missional men and women who have shown what living wholeheartedly for Christ looks like. Readers will be encouraged that they cannot only understand what all-for-you living means, but that they can do so, enjoying living with a different spirit . . . an identifiable, different spirit that points to Christ.
